How to properly maintain your jetski

How to properly maintain your jetski

After spending your hard earned money on your PWC you should know how to properly protect your investment to avoid frequent repairs in the future. Here are some preventative maintenance you can do to keep your ride in good shape.

1) Storage / After Riding

The amount of service calls we received for corrosion related problems is crazy. Overheat from salt buildup and thermostats corroding causing them to stick. No starts from battery cables popping off & Starter solenoids corroding.

Exterior: Wash down your ski, soap the topside & rinse the whole jetski, seat & jet pump area. This reduces paint damage, seat cover decay & jet pump corrosion & seizing.

Interior: Allow engine to cool after running. Flush engine out of the hose & spray the inside with a light mist of water to wash off salt. Wipe down or let dry & then spray down engine block, water box, battery terminals / cables, motor mounts, carbs, etc with a lubricating spray like WD-40 or CRC's 656 multi-purpose lubricating spray.

Other tips: Use sea foam or a fuel stabilizer of your choice in your fuel for storage and other engine preservation benefits when running.

2) Service
